Commissions
Poetry Commissions
Thembe is a skilled and highly adaptive storyteller. Her experience spans from producing live commissions, where she observes and responds to an event in real time, crafting and performing a poem the same day as a reflective close, to to long-form editorial projects, educational resources and poetry in dialogue with live exhibitions.
She has been commissioned by cultural institutions such as the Barbican Centre, the Courtauld Gallery and the Museum of Gloucester.
Recent work includes a poem marking 75 years of the NHS, in partnership with University College Hospital London.
Thembe also writes for private occasions, including weddings and award ceremonies, bringing the same heartfelt craft to personal milestones as to public commissions.
