Thembe is a South African born writer and performance poet currently based in London. Her work has been described as having a profound ability to allow readers and listeners to exist in different places at the same time.  Thembe has performed her poetry across many platforms nationally, including the Tate Modern, Latitude festival and the TEDx stage. She will be a headliner at Oslo Afro Arts festival in August 2019. 


In 2017 Thembe was a finalist in The Roundhouse poetry slam competition and was a recent member of The Roundhouse poetry collective. Her prize shortlisted debut poetry pamphlet, We that Wither Beneath,  was self published in March 2019.
